Dubai, the marvel of the modern world

It is not difficult to understand why Dubai has become such a popular destination within the last decade. It has a ski slope and a golf course in the middle of the desert. It has the only 7 star hotel in the world. It has artificial islands shaped as palm trees or the planisphere. Who would not want to go there?
Dubai is not a destination suitable for extreme entertainment, but rather a dream destination for families and couples. Most tourists come from Western Europe. The busiest period is around Christmas, because that is when the weather is best.
The Emirate of Dubai is located on the shores of Arabic Gulf. The closest and biggest airport is in Dubai. The climate is subtropical and it is sunny all year round, making it ideal for a vacation. In summertime, the temperatures can go as high as 45 degrees Celsius. In the rest of the year, the average temperature is 27 degrees. The best period is between December and March, as the sea breeze is slightly cooler and nights are less hot.  It rarely rains.
Most of the Gulf Coast features sandy beaches and breathtaking turquoise waters. The most popular is the Jumeirah Beach, but most beaches offer complete facilities for water sports lovers. The most popular public beach is at Mamzar Park, where tourists can relax with their family among the palm trees. Besides the beaches and the sea, tourists also have other interesting things they could do. They could visit the many impressive mosques and old quarters or they could take boat trips on the River Dubai. Most hotels offer a variety of leisure activities for the whole family, children's clubs and beach activities. The more adventurous tourists can take part in safari trips or camel rides in the desert.
Dubai is the house for the tallest building in the world, called Burj Khalifa. It has 124 stories and it is 822 meters high. The observation deck at the top offers an amazing view and the tower has became the newest iconic landmark of Dubai.
Dubai is an ideal destination for shopping, as here are huge malls, with prices suitable for every budget, especially during the discount periods when prices are considerably reduced. The traditional goods include traditional silver and gold jewelries and exotic spices. UAE is a Muslim country and therefore, consumption of alcohol is controlled, but tourists have no restrictions for use in hotels, clubs and restaurants.
The central area can be easily explored on foot, but for other areas, it is necessary to use a car or taxi. The Dubai Metro is one of the most modern and spectacular in the world.
